Brightstar Advances Goldfields Project with Final Investment Decision
Brightstar Resources Limited (ASX: BTR) has approved the Final Investment Decision (FID) for its wholly owned Goldfields Project in Western Australia, marking a major milestone in its TARGET200 growth strategy. The company has secured all key regulatory approvals and executed a AU$110 million Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with GR Engineering Services for the 1.5Mtpa Laverton Processing Plant.
Construction activities, including site remediation, engineering works, and procurement of long-lead items, are already underway. Open pit mining at the Lord Byron deposit is scheduled to commence later in CY26, ahead of the targeted first gold production in JunQ’27. The project is fully funded through a AU$193 million equity raising and US$120 million bond financing.
The Goldfields Project is expected to produce approximately 75,000 ounces of gold annually over an initial six-year mine life, generating strong projected cash flows and supporting Brightstar’s ambition to become a significant mid-tier Australian gold producer.
