BTC Health Limited (ASX: BTC) has secured a significant order for its Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) equipment from the Women’s and Children’s Hospital (WCH) in Adelaide. The initial purchase order, valued at AU$500,000, includes the ECMO system and one year’s worth of single-use consumables. This agreement marks BTC's second major ECMO customer, following its successful placement at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
The addition of WCH to BTC’s ECMO network is a key milestone, facilitating a dedicated patient retrieval corridor between Adelaide and Melbourne. This development will significantly improve clinical outcomes for critically ill paediatric patients requiring advanced life support. BTC anticipates recurring annual revenue of AU$100,000 from consumable sales at WCH, with expectations that the hospital will expand ECMO services to inpatients soon. Executive Chairman Dr Richard Treagus highlighted this order as a major step in BTC’s national ECMO strategy, laying the foundation for future hospital partnerships across Australia.
