Lithium Universe Reports Breakthrough in Silver Recovery

Lithium Universe Limited (ASX: LU7) has announced highly positive outcomes from its advanced silver recovery program using the proprietary Jet Electrochemical Silver Extraction (JESE) technology. The process delivered silver purity of 95.95% within just five minutes of deposition, placing it on par with Britannia-grade silver and significantly above sterling standards. Results also highlighted a very low impurity profile of only 4.05%, with aluminium (1.93%) and oxygen (1.13%) being the main contaminants, while toxic heavy metals such as lead and bismuth remained negligible.

In comparison, conventional bath recovery methods achieved only 78.63% silver content and exhibited much higher aluminium (11.40%) and oxygen (8.41%) levels. Earlier trials already demonstrated 95% recovery efficiency within 30 minutes, and the latest results confirm JESE’s ability to combine speed with quality. Importantly, the method requires lower energy, reduced acid consumption, and generates less waste. Optimisation studies will now focus on further refining process parameters to enhance silver purity.
