Excelsior Capital and London City Equities Reach Settlement Enabling Capital Return
Excelsior Capital Limited (ASX: ECL) has settled with London City Equities Limited (ASX: LCE), ending Federal Court litigation that had been scheduled for trial in February 2026. Under the agreement, London City will immediately discontinue proceedings, while Excelsior commits to using its best endeavours to realise its investments, settle liabilities, and return value to shareholders.
The plan includes declaring a fully-franked dividend to the maximum extent possible, followed by an equal capital return of remaining net proceeds and, ultimately, a delisting from the ASX. Required shareholder approvals for the capital return and delisting are expected to be sought at a meeting likely held in January 2026, with distributions anticipated between February and April 2026.
London City’s Board notes the settlement achieves the same shareholder-focused outcome the litigation sought, while avoiding significant legal costs and allowing management to refocus on portfolio development.
