Galilee Energy Advances Zydeco-1 Well Toward Scheduled Drilling Commencement
Galilee Energy Limited (ASX: GLL) has achieved another operational milestone at its Zydeco-1 project in Louisiana, with the drilling rig fully erected and positioned over the planned well location ahead of drilling. Preparatory work, including conductor installation, site construction, rig alignment, surveying and heavy equipment mobilisation, has been completed, allowing the project to enter its final readiness phase. The company confirmed that activities continue to progress safely, within budget and according to schedule, with drilling expected to commence during the first week of July 2026. Zydeco-1 will evaluate a conventional Gulf Coast gas-condensate prospect containing an estimated unrisked resource potential of up to 13.7 Bcf of natural gas and 610,000 barrels of condensate. Following drilling, Galilee plans to undertake logging, testing and evaluation before considering development. A successful outcome could enable rapid commercialisation through nearby infrastructure, supporting the company's broader objective of building a scalable U.S. oil and gas portfolio with sustainable long-term growth.
