Legacy Minerals Reports New Gold Discovery from Maiden Drilling at Mascotte
Legacy Minerals Holdings Limited (ASX: LGM) has announced a new gold discovery following initial diamond drilling at the Mascotte Prospect within its Mt Carrington Project in New South Wales. The first drill hole beneath a 1.3-kilometre historical workings trend intersected broad zones of gold and silver mineralisation, including 40 metres at 1.0 grams per tonne gold, with higher-grade sections reaching up to 5.6 grams per tonne gold.
The discovery sits outside the current mineral resource and remains open in multiple directions, indicating potential for further expansion. Geological characteristics and mineralisation styles suggest similarities to known epithermal systems in the district.
Drilling completed to date has intersected consistent sulphide mineralisation across multiple holes, with additional assay results pending. The company plans further drilling and geophysical work to refine targets and focus on higher-grade zones as exploration progresses.
