Orion Minerals Advances Glencore Financing Milestone Ahead of Prieska Development
Orion Minerals Limited (ASX: ORN) announced meaningful progress toward completing the outstanding conditions required under its Glencore financing and offtake agreements, marking another step forward for the development of its Prieska Project in South Africa. The company confirmed that approval from the South African Reserve Bank has been secured, while the intercreditor and offtake agreements are in their final stages and awaiting execution.
The latest developments are expected to allow Tranche A of the financing package to become unconditional, with funds anticipated to be drawn by the end of August 2026. This would enable construction activities at the Uppers section of the Prieska Project to commence. Meanwhile, progress continues on Tranche B, which depends on Glencore obtaining third-party non-recourse funding. Orion’s management stated that the financing milestone would move the company closer to becoming a producer, with first production currently targeted around 13 months after Tranche A closes.
