QBE Insurance Group Limited (ASX: QBE) is a Sydney-headquartered global insurer and reinsurer operating across North America, International, and Australia Pacific, with a diversified presence in commercial, specialty, crop, consumer, and reinsurance markets.
For the 2025 financial year, QBE generated statutory earnings after tax of US$2,157 million, compared with US$1,779 million in the previous year. After normalising for one-off items, earnings totalled US$2,132 million, equating to an adjusted return on equity of 19.8%. Gross written premium increased 7% to US$23,959 million, driven by targeted organic growth, and the combined operating ratio improved to 91.9% from 93.1%, supported by lower catastrophe costs. Net investment income was US$1,633 million, generating a 4.9% return. The company closed the year with a solid capital buffer, reporting a Prescribed Capital Amount multiple of 1.87x. Shareholders were rewarded with a final dividend of 78 Australian cents per share, lifting the total dividend for the year to 109 Australian cents and representing a distribution of half of adjusted earnings.
