Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Secures AU$90 million in Major Infrastructure Awards
Southern Cross Electrical Engineering Limited (ASX: SXE) has secured new contracts valued at approximately AU$90 million across the data centre and rail infrastructure sectors, strengthening its forward workload and highlighting its multi-disciplinary capabilities. The awards include significant works at DigiCo Infrastructure REIT’s SYD1 20MW data centre expansion in Sydney, where group subsidiaries will deliver electrical, power, and fire protection services. These scopes cover low-voltage systems, generators, UPS infrastructure, fire services, and the local manufacture of specialised switchboards, with project completion targeted for Q2 2026.
In parallel, the group’s subsidiary Heyday has been awarded the electrical and communications systems package for the Sydney Metro St Marys Station, part of the Western Sydney Airport rail line. The project includes full low-voltage electrical and communications installations, drawing on SCEE’s established rail delivery experience and in-house manufacturing capabilities. Works are scheduled to commence immediately, with completion expected in Q1 2027, reinforcing SCEE’s position in large-scale, complex infrastructure projects across high-growth sectors.
