Sierra Nevada Gold Awarded as Safra Copper–Gold Project in Saudi Arabia
Sierra Nevada Gold Inc. (ASX: SNX) has been awarded the highly prospective As Safra Copper–Gold Project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following its successful participation in a competitive tender process conducted by the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. Receipt of the Letter of Award represents a key milestone toward securing a full exploration licence over the expansive 375km² project area. As Safra hosts a large-scale copper–gold skarn system, underpinned by a well-defined 5.5km by 0.6km mineralised core supported by historic workings, slag deposits and limited drilling.
Historical exploration has returned exceptionally high-grade copper and gold rock chip results, while sparse drilling intersected strong sulphide copper mineralisation, highlighting significant upside along strike and at depth. Beyond the central core, multiple copper, gold, silver and lead-zinc prospects across the broader project area point to substantial district-scale polymetallic potential. With a Saudi investment licence secured and constructive government engagement underway, SNX is well positioned to advance exploration and capitalise on Saudi Arabia’s rapidly expanding mining sector under Vision 2030.
