1414 Degrees Limited (ASX:14D) has signed its first defence-sector agreement with Ukrainian government-approved drone manufacturer Energia 2000 to evaluate its SiNTL silicon-anode battery technology across a range of military UAV platforms. Energia 2000 currently produces around 72,000 drones annually and plans to significantly expand production over the next two years. The collaboration will allow SiNTL batteries to undergo real-world testing in operational environments, including fixed-wing UAVs, heavy multirotor systems, and FPV drones. The technology has already demonstrated a specific capacity of 530 mAh/g, exceeding conventional graphite-based alternatives, with a target of reaching 600 mAh/g.
The partnership provides 14D with access to one of the world’s most active drone markets and a structured pathway toward commercial adoption. Successful testing could open opportunities across the European defence, aerospace, and UAV sectors through battery material supply, technology licensing, and royalty arrangements. The company also expects the agreement to enhance its industry profile, create additional commercial opportunities, and support efforts to strengthen Western battery supply chains by reducing dependence on Chinese graphite anodes.
