Kingston Resources Reshapes Mineral Hill Strategy with Exploration-Focused Growth Plan
Kingston Resources Limited (ASX: KSN) has announced a major strategic shift at its Mineral Hill operation following a geotechnical failure at the Pearse South open pit. The company has decided not to resume mining at the pit after determining that remediation costs and operational risks outweigh the remaining economic benefits. Instead, Kingston will focus on expanding the long-term value of Mineral Hill through an extensive 25,000-metre drilling campaign targeting underground resource growth and reserve expansion. The revised plan includes resource upgrades, exploration of new mineralised zones, and studies to potentially increase plant capacity to 700,000 tonnes per annum. To fund these initiatives and manage closure-related costs, Kingston is undertaking a capital raising of approximately AU$11.6 million. Despite near-term operational challenges, management believes the strategy will strengthen Mineral Hill’s future as a larger, longer-life copper and gold operation while leveraging its established infrastructure and processing capabilities.
