Bass Oil Receives Government Support for Kiwi Gas Project
Bass Oil Limited (ASX: BAS) has received an AU$3.5 million grant from the South Australian Government to support the development of its Kiwi gas project in the Cooper Basin. The funding is part of the State’s gas initiative aimed at improving future energy supply and encouraging new gas developments across the region. A portion of the grant will be provided immediately, helping the company accelerate early-stage project activities.
The financial support will mainly be used for technical and engineering work related to a proposed pipeline that would connect the Kiwi field to existing Cooper Basin infrastructure. Bass Oil believes the project could play an important role in increasing domestic gas production while also opening opportunities for further exploration in the Triassic gas region.
The company had earlier reported strong production test results from the Kiwi-1 well, which demonstrated promising gas and condensate flow rates. Bass Oil is continuing studies and funding discussions, with plans to reach a final investment decision by late 2026.
