Brazilian Rare Earths Expands Monte Alto with High-Grade Heavy Rare Earth Discovery
Brazilian Rare Earths Limited (ASX: BRE) has reported encouraging drilling results from its Monte Alto Heavy Rare Earths and Yttrium (HREE+Y) discovery in Bahia, Brazil, further strengthening the growth potential of the broader Monte Alto District. The latest drilling program confirmed that high-grade heavy rare earth mineralisation extends into fresh bedrock, with the best intercept returning 1.3 metres grading 10.9% total rare earth oxides (TREO), including exceptionally high yttrium content alongside significant dysprosium and terbium values. These results reinforce the scale and quality of the mineralised system while highlighting the district's potential to host additional high-grade rare earth zones.
The company has also integrated the Monte Alto Deposit, the HREE+Y discovery, the Velhinhas Corridor and nearby exploration areas into a single Monte Alto District framework to support a coordinated exploration and development strategy. Follow-up diamond drilling, geophysical surveys and auger programs are continuing across several priority targets, with a second-phase drilling campaign of more than 5,000 metres already in progress. Brazilian Rare Earths expects to deliver updated Mineral Resource estimates and a Scoping Study for the Rocha da Rocha mining province and its planned Camaçari processing hub in August, providing important milestones for the project's future advancement.
