Future Metals Identifies Lower-Cost Development Pathway for Panton via Savannah Plant Option
Future Metals NL (ASX: FME) has reported the completion of an engineering assessment evaluating the Savannah Plant as an alternative development pathway for its Panton PGM Project, highlighting a materially lower-cost and lower-risk approach. The study indicates potential upfront capital savings of approximately AU$74 million compared to the 2023 scoping study, with total capital costs reduced from AU$267 million to around AU$193 million, including contingency. Further optimisation could deliver additional savings of up to AU$22 million under a modified plant configuration. The strategy involves trucking ore from Panton to the Savannah facility, enabling a staged development approach while preserving long-term scale-up potential. Importantly, the option leverages existing infrastructure and permits, reducing execution and approval risks. The Company will advance further studies to validate the economics and technical viability, positioning the project for improved financing outcomes amid stronger PGM pricing.
