Hawk Resources Limited (ASX: HWK) as announced positive drilling results from hole DD26CT003 at its Cactus Copper-Gold Project in Utah, with the latest assays indicating the presence of a substantial shallow copper mineralised zone that could enhance the project's exploration potential. Laboratory assays confirmed a high-grade copper intersection of 19.6 metres at 1.25% copper from 60.5 metres downhole, including 14.2 metres at 1.60% copper and a higher-grade zone of 4.9 metres at 3.97% copper.
These results occur within a broader mineralised interval of 80 metres grading 0.48% copper from surface, suggesting the presence of a sizeable copper-bearing zone. The hole also intersected a notable molybdenum interval of 46.1 metres at 0.03% molybdenum, while additional silver and gold mineralisation was identified over narrower sections.
Management noted that the mineralised zone appears consistent with historical drilling and may represent true thickness due to the drill orientation. With all required permits secured, Hawk is preparing to recommence drilling across the one-kilometre-long Cactus Corridor in Q3 2026 to further evaluate the project's resource potential.
