Vitrafy Expands US Presence Through Strategic Blood Preservation Partnership
Vitrafy Life Sciences (ASX: VFY) has entered into a strategic partnership with Vitalant Innovation Center, one of the largest blood network organisations in the United States, to advance next-generation cryopreservation solutions for red blood cells. The collaboration is aimed at addressing an emerging industry challenge as existing technologies used for long-term red blood cell preservation approach discontinuation without a direct replacement. Through the partnership, Vitrafy will adapt its proprietary cryopreservation ecosystem to support future blood storage requirements and help maintain critical reserves used in emergency response, rare blood type management, and healthcare operations. The company believes the opportunity could extend beyond red blood cells to additional blood-based products over time. Two cryopreservation units will initially be deployed at Vitalant’s innovation facility in Colorado to support development and evaluation activities. Management views the agreement as a significant step toward broader market adoption and future commercial opportunities within the healthcare and blood preservation sectors.
