Litchfield Minerals Expands Harts Range Copper-Nickel Discovery Potential
Litchfield Minerals (ASX: LMS) has strengthened the exploration case for its Harts Range Project in the Northern Territory following research completed through the BHP Xplor Program. The work has transformed the geological interpretation of Harts Range from a collection of individual prospects into a district-scale copper-nickel mineral system with the potential to host significant sulphide discoveries. Integrated magnetotelluric (MT), seismic, gravity, magnetic, structural and isotopic datasets have identified deep mantle-sourced magmatic activity and long-lived crustal structures capable of transporting and concentrating copper and nickel mineralisation.
A key outcome was the identification of the deep C2 conductor beneath the Blackadder-Baldrick Ni-Cu-PGE prospects, providing evidence of a potential link between deep conductive architecture and known sulphide mineralisation. Importantly, the conductor is not visible in broader regional datasets, indicating that additional concealed targets may exist across the belt. To advance exploration, LMS is undertaking two approximately 50-kilometre MT and gravity survey lines designed to identify further C2-style conductors and generate a pipeline of high-priority drill targets across the Harts Range portfolio.
