Lodestar Reports Elevated Heavy Rare Earth Grades at Virgin Mountain
Lodestar Minerals Limited (ASX: LSR) has announced encouraging rare earth assay results from reconnaissance rock chip sampling at its 100% owned Virgin Mountain Project in Arizona, USA. The program delivered peak grades of 3.73% Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO), with heavy rare earth oxides (HREO) accounting for up to 64% of TREO in mineralised samples. The elevated HREO proportion underscores the presence of high-value elements including dysprosium, terbium and lutetium.
Five significant grab samples returned 3.73% TREO (48% HREO), 1.81% TREO (58% HREO), 1.67% TREO (62% HREO), 1.41% TREO (64% HREO) and 1.00% TREO (50% HREO). Mapping has outlined a five-kilometre structural trend, with two mineralised surface exposures located approximately 225 metres apart. Mineralogical test work is underway to confirm the rare earth mineral species and assess processing pathways, with results expected in March.
In Chile, drilling activities continue at the Three Saints Copper & Gold Project, where a diamond rig is targeting a depth of 500 metres.
