Somerset Minerals Secures Funding to Accelerate Talisker Copper Drilling
Somerset Minerals Limited (ASX: SMM) has strengthened its exploration plans after securing firm commitments to raise AU$2.0 million through a placement, alongside a non-renounceable entitlement offer that could generate an additional AU$1.2 million. If fully subscribed, the initiatives are expected to provide up to AU$3.2 million before costs to advance exploration activities at the company’s Coppermine Project in Nunavut, Canada.
The funding will primarily support the maiden reverse circulation drilling campaign at the high-priority Talisker copper target, scheduled to begin in early July 2026. Talisker hosts a significant 17-kilometre copper anomaly and is located near White Cliff Minerals’ Danvers copper discovery. Recent field programs identified multiple zones of surface copper mineralisation across approximately 14 kilometres of strike length, enhancing confidence in the project’s exploration potential.
An infill soil sampling program has been completed, with assay results expected shortly. The initial drilling campaign is planned to cover approximately 2,500 metres and test several priority targets generated through geochemical, geophysical and mapping studies. With permits secured and drilling equipment already on site, Somerset is positioned to commence an active exploration phase aimed at unlocking the broader copper potential of the Coppermine Project.
