Syrah Resources Limited Extends Cure Date for Tesla Offtake Agreement
Syrah Resources Limited (ASX: SYR) has confirmed that the deadline to remedy an alleged default under its offtake arrangement with Tesla, Inc. has been extended. The agreement covers the supply of natural graphite active anode material (AAM) produced at Syrah’s Vidalia, Louisiana facility, which has a production capacity of 11.25 thousand tonnes per annum. Tesla had previously issued a notice claiming that Syrah failed to provide conforming AAM samples from the Vidalia facility and required the company to address the matter by 16 March 2026.
While Syrah maintains that it is not in default under the agreement, both parties have agreed to extend the cure deadline to 1 June 2026 while continuing to collaborate on resolving the issue. Tesla maintains the option to terminate the agreement if the final qualification of Vidalia’s AAM is not completed by the updated deadline, with the amendment to the agreement remaining subject to approval from the United States Department of Energy.
