The Star Secures Refinancing to Strengthen Liquidity Position
The Star Entertainment Group Limited (ASX: SGR) has entered into a binding refinancing agreement with funds associated with WhiteHawk Capital Partners to restructure its existing debt and enhance liquidity. The arrangement includes a three-year facility worth approximately US$390 million (around AU$550 million), aimed at fully refinancing current obligations while supporting ongoing operations.
The refinancing carries an interest rate linked to Term SOFR with a margin aligned to recent agreements, alongside structured quarterly repayments beginning March 2027. It also introduces financial covenants, including minimum liquidity thresholds starting at AU$50 million and increasing over time, as well as EBITDA and asset coverage requirements.
Completion remains subject to customary conditions such as regulatory approvals, final documentation, and the divestment of its interest in the Destination Brisbane Consortium. The company is targeting completion by mid-May 2026, reinforcing its financial stability and operational continuity.
