By the end of the trading session on 18 August 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.23% and settled at 8,959.30. Out of 11 sectors, 07 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Telecommunications Services  and Information Technology  are the top-gaining sector, gaining 1.39% and 0.82% in their it’s value. On the other hand, Materials and Energy was the top-losing sector, losing 0.75% and 0.49% in it’s value.

Clarity Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX:CU6) and Lendlease Group Limited (ASX: LLC) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 8.196% and 6.666% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Digico Infrastructure REIT Limited (ASX: DGT) and Temple & Webster Group Limited (ASX: TPW) are the top-losing stocks, losing 14.063% and 5.274% in their stock prices.

  • In global markets, the Hang Seng Index was up 0.02%, while the FTSE 100 advanced 0.15%.
