By the end of the trading session on 09 May 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.48% and settled at 8,231.20. Out of the 11 sectors, 09 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Information Technology and Financial are the top-gaining sector, gaining 1.82% and 1.10% in their index value. On the other hand, Materials and A-REIT are the top-losing sector, losing 0.46% and 0.03% in their index value.

Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) and NUIX Limited (ASX: NXL) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 17.592% and 10.194% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Healius Limited (ASX: HLS) and Smartgroup Corporations Limited (ASX: SIQ) are the top-losing stocks, losing 25.000% and 6.068% in their stock prices.
