ASX/200 Closed Higher by 0.66%, Lifted by A-REIT

By the end of the trading session on 02 July 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.66% and settled at 8,597.70. Out of the 11 sectors, 10 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

A-REIT and Materials is the top-gaining sector, gaining 1.85% and 1.83% in their it’s value. On the other hand, Inormation Technology Services are the top-losing sector, losing 0.73% in their index value.

Perpetual Limited (ASX: PPT) and Magellan Financial Group Limited (ASX: MFG) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 8.747% and 5.963% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Helia Group Limited (ASX: HLI) and Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited (ASX: DMP) are the top-losing stocks, losing 21.351% and 15.790% in their stock prices.

  • Oil prices stabilised after recent gains, with traders keeping a close eye on Middle East tensions and U.S. inventory levels.
  • U.S. stock markets advanced, with the Dow Jones up 0.63%, the S&P 500 rising 0.52%, and the NASDAQ gaining 0.47%.
  • In global markets, the Hang Seng Index rose 0.82%, while the FTSE 100 ticked up by 0.28%.
