Other Factors influencing the market:

  • Shares of Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation Limited slid 4.8% to $32.49, despite the company posting a 43% increase in full-year net profit. Investor sentiment appeared lukewarm, potentially influenced by RBC Capital Markets’ earlier warning that the stock’s strong run-up could lead to pre-market profit-taking.
  • Mineral Resources Limited (ASX: MIN) also came under pressure, dropping 5.5% to $22.45 after revising its full-year iron ore production forecast downward once again—this time by up to 10%, raising fresh concerns about output consistency.
  • In contrast, Webjet Travel Group Limited (ASX: WEB) surged 12.4% to $5.26, following a trading update that revealed a sharp increase in bookings and total transaction value (TTV). The company announced it had "recalibrated and is back on track", boosting investor confidence in its recovery trajectory.
  • Meanwhile, ALS Limited (ASX: ALQ) tumbled 7.6% to $16.30 after the company raised $350 million through the placement of 21 million new shares with institutional investors, a move that diluted existing holdings and weighed on its share price.
  • Among global benchmarks, performance was mixed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.78%, while the S&P 500 fell 2.05%. The NASDAQ Composite advanced 2.47%, reflecting volatility in US markets.
  • In Asia, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index dipped 0.68%, while London’s FTSE 100 remained flat with no percentage change recorded today.
