ASX/200 Closer Higher by 0.59%, Lifted by Materials

By the end of the trading session on 10 July 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 0.59% and settled at 8,589.20. Out of the 11 sectors, 07 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Materials and Industrials is the top-gaining sector, gaining 1.27% and 1.02% in their it’s value. On the other hand, Healthcare and Information Technology are the top-losing sector, losing 0.57% and 0.17% in their index value.

Lifestyle Communities Limited (ASX: LIC) and Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 7.466% and 6.666% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited (ASX: DMP) and Reece Limited (ASX: REH) are the top-losing stocks, losing 3.621% and 2.940% in their stock prices.

  • Lovisa Holdings Limited (ASX: LOV) rose 5.1% to $33.06, buoyed by Morgan Stanley’s decision to lift its price target on the jewellery retailer from $31.50 to $35.
  • Imricor Medical Systems Inc (ASX: IMR) plunged 15.1% to $1.32 following the company’s announcement that regulatory clearance for one of its cardiac catheter devices in the United States had been delayed.
  • Pro Medicus Limited (ASX: PME) added 1% to reach $317.69, continuing its upward trajectory despite a general dip in healthcare stocks. The company’s shares have gained nearly 30% year-to-date.
  • Platinum Asset Management Limited (ASX: PTM) soared 13.1% to 56¢ after UBS maintained a “neutral” rating but raised its 12-month price forecast from 47¢ to 53¢.
  • Oil prices remained stable as investors balanced a sharp increase of 7.1 million barrels in U.S. crude inventories with new U.S. sanctions targeting 22 entities linked to Iranian oil sales.
  • U.S. markets advanced: Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 0.49%, S&P 500 gained 0.61% and NASDAQ Composite increased 0.94%
  • Asian markets showed moderate gains, with the Hang Seng Index up 0.69% at the time of writing.
