By the end of the trading session on 02 May 2025, the benchmark index S&P/ASX 200 closed higher by 1.13% and settled at 8,238.00. Out of the 11 sectors, 10 sectors ended higher along with the S&P/ASX 200.

Healthcare and Energy are the top-gaining sectors, gaining 2.05% and 2.03% in their index values. On the other hand, Industrials are the top-losing sector, losing 0.01% in their index value.

Clarity Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX: CU6) and Nickel Industries Limited (ASX: NIC) are the top-gaining stocks, gaining 14.693% and 7.272% in their stock prices. On the other hand, Block Inc. (ASX: XYZ) and Corporate Travel Management Limited (ASX: CTD) are the top-losing stocks, losing 26.876% and 9.693% in their stock prices.
