Brightstar Resources announced on 30 September 2026 that deep diamond drilling at the Two Mile Hill deposit, part of its Sandstone Gold Project, had intersected extensive mineralised tonalite with numerous occurrences of visible gold. The company reported that its approximately 3,800-metre extensional drilling programme had been completed, with assays still pending. Both drillholes encountered mineralised tonalite extending up to around 400 metres, with 40 visible-gold occurrences recorded throughout the drilling. The combined Two Mile Hill-Shillington deposit currently contains a Mineral Resource of 24.6Mt at 1.8g/t Au for 1.45 million ounces. Brightstar is also planning to investigate up to ten other potentially comparable felsic intrusives near Two Mile Hill.

Cobre Limited released its 2026 Annual Report on 30 September 2026, highlighting a significant operational shift during the financial year. The company reported that copper cathode production at the Sierra Atacama operation reached 879 tonnes in the June 2026 quarter, compared with 771 tonnes in the March quarter. Leach recovery improved to 76% from 63% in January, while the project generated approximately US$1.62 million in operating cash flow between April and June. Cobre also reduced project-level financing liabilities by approximately US$9.4 million.
