Source: Kapitales Research
Highlights:
Vita Resources is broadening its mineral exploration presence by applying for a 68km² gold exploration permit in the Central Otago region of New Zealand.
The Company reports improved half-year performance with a lower net loss of AU$478,441 for the period ended 30 June 2026.
The Company remains focused on advancing its diversified exploration portfolio, covering gold, copper and polymetallic opportunities across Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
Vita Resources Builds Presence in New Zealand Gold Region
On 30 September 2026, Vita Resources NL (ASX: VTA) confirmed the submission of an Exploration Permit application covering 68km² of prospective ground in the Bendigo area of Central Otago, New Zealand. The application, lodged through its subsidiary Otago Exploration Ltd, represents a further step in the Company’s strategy to secure prospective exploration ground and expand its international mineral portfolio.
The proposed permit area is positioned next to Santana Minerals Limited’s (ASX: SMI) Bendigo-Ophir Gold Project, within a region recognised for historical gold mining activity. The area has experienced gold production from both alluvial deposits and hard-rock quartz systems over an extended period, creating a favourable geological setting for further exploration.
Half-Year Results Reflect Focus on Exploration Growth
Vita Resources released its interim financial report for the six months ended 30 June 2026 on 10 September 2026. During the reporting period, the Company continued restructuring its exploration strategy following its transition from Bastion Minerals Limited and focused on advancing its portfolio of gold, copper and rare earth assets across multiple regions.
The Company generated AU$510 in other income during the half-year and recorded a net loss after tax of AU$478,441, representing an improvement compared with the AU$798,128 loss reported in the previous corresponding period. Vita ended the period with AU$498,891 in cash and cash equivalents, compared with AU$310,283 at the end of December 2025.
Advancing Diversified Mineral Asset Portfolio
The Company continued progressing its key exploration projects during the period. At the Ninnis Gold Project in Western Australia, early-stage auger drilling identified significant gold-in-soil anomalies, supporting further exploration work. Meanwhile, Vita’s ICE Polymetallic Project in Canada maintains a JORC Mineral Resource Estimate of 6.43 million tonnes at 1.07% copper, providing exposure to copper and associated mineral opportunities.
The New Zealand initiative follows Vita’s August 2026 heads of agreement with Otago Gold, which established a strategic relationship allowing the Company to assess and pursue hard-rock exploration opportunities across the Otago region.
Outlook
Vita Resources is expected to focus on advancing exploration activities across its expanding asset base. Following approval of the New Zealand permit and completion of access arrangements, the Company plans to undertake a geochemistry-based exploration programme aimed at defining priority targets for future drilling activities.
The Company’s future progress will depend on exploration outcomes, permitting milestones, stakeholder engagement and funding requirements. With projects spanning gold, copper and critical minerals, Vita continues to develop a diversified exploration pipeline designed to identify potential mineral discoveries across Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
