ASX 200 moves up 0.86%; Miners were the top gainer
By the end of the trading session on 22nd March 2022, benchmark index ASX 200 settled in the green zone. ASX 200 increased by 0.86% and settled at 7,341.10. The index was driven by the strong performance of the commodities and energy sectors. Today Materials sector was the best performer, which gained 3.34%. The sector improved 6.74% over the last five days.
Beach Energy rose 3.174% to AU$1.625, while Santos rose 2.2% to AU$7.79, as oil prices rose sharply.
The Information technology sector was the top loser with 1.25% drop in the index value.
On ASX 200, Liontown Resources Limited (ASX: LTR) and BHP Group Limited (ASX:BHP) were the top gainers with 6.285% and 5.102% growth in the share price.
On the other hand, Atlas Arteria (ASX: ALX) and Life360 Inc. (ASX: 360) were the top losers with a drop of 5.309% and 4.805% in the share prices.
