Blue Star Helium Delivers First Helium as Galactica Project Moves Into Revenue Phase

Source: Kapitales Research

Highlights:

  • Blue Star Helium has successfully processed its first refined helium gas at the Galactica project in Colorado.
  • The Pinon Canyon processing plant has successfully completed commissioning and has moved into the optimisation and ramp-up stage.
  • Initial helium sales are targeted for January 2026, supported by short-term contracts and longer-term offtake discussions.

First Helium Marks Operational Milestone

Blue Star Helium Limited (ASX: BNL, OTC: BSNLF) has reached a significant operational milestone following the successful start-up of the Pinon Canyon processing plant and the production of refined helium gas at its Galactica project in the United States. The achievement marks the company’s transition from development into the early stages of production and commercial activity.

Management described first helium production as a major inflection point, reflecting several years of technical evaluation and disciplined project development across the Galactica–Pegasus structure. With refined helium now flowing through the system, the project has moved into an optimisation and ramp-up phase focused on stabilising operations and increasing throughput.

Commercial Pathway and Offtake Strategy

Blue Star is advancing commercial arrangements alongside operational ramp-up. The company is pursuing a two-stage offtake approach, beginning with short-term sales agreements intended to generate initial revenue from January 2026. These early contracts are expected to support near-term cash flow while negotiations continue on longer-term partnerships.

In parallel, the company is working to secure longer-term offtake agreements designed to deliver sustained and predictable revenue as production volumes increase. Engagement is underway with a range of potential buyers across the United States helium market, including transport operators, storage providers, and end users seeking to diversify supply sources.

Scaling Production and Forward Plans

Revenue expansion in the first half of 2026 is expected to be supported by further well tie-ins and infill drilling programs designed to lift gas supply into the Pinon Canyon processing plant. Once full processing capacity is reached, production levels are expected to be maintained through ongoing infill and expansion drilling, with the operating life of the plant projected to exceed twelve years.

The wider Galactica–Pegasus structure offers considerable scalability based on already discovered resources. Beyond initial optimisation, future growth options include the installation of additional processing capacity and further development across the broader acreage position.

Capital Raising Supports Next Phase

Alongside first production, Blue Star has launched a capital raising of up to AU$8.2 million to support the next stage of development at Galactica. The funding includes an institutional placement and a non-renounceable rights issue, with proceeds earmarked to advance production, expand throughput, and support working capital requirements.

Management indicated the additional capital provides sufficient runway to progress Galactica into sustained production while targeting higher helium output through further drilling and infrastructure expansion.

Outlook

With first helium successfully produced and commercial sales targeted for early 2026, Blue Star Helium enters a new phase focused on scaling operations and securing long-term customers. Investor attention is likely to centre on plant ramp-up performance, execution of offtake agreements, and the pace at which the Galactica project delivers revenue growth as the company establishes itself as a new domestic helium supplier in the United States.
