GQG Partners Releases September Funds Under Management Update

GQG Partners Inc. (ASX: GQG) published its funds under management update on 12 October 2026, reporting total FUM of US$149.2 billion as at 30 September 2026. The asset management company recorded net client outflows during September, although investment performance helped offset the impact on its overall funds.

During the month, net outflows totalled US$2.3 billion, while investment performance added US$2.4 billion. International, Emerging, Global and US strategies all experienced net outflows, with the Emerging strategy recording the largest withdrawal at US$1.0 billion. Despite these movements, total FUM remained unchanged at US$149.2 billion compared with the beginning of September, reflecting the offsetting effects of net flows and investment performance.

Performance Across Investment Strategies

GQG's International strategy ended September with US$69.0 billion in FUM, up from US$68.6 billion at the start of the month. Net outflows of US$0.5 billion were offset by positive investment performance of US$0.8 billion.

The Emerging strategy recorded ending FUM of US$34.2 billion, compared with US$34.1 billion at the beginning of September. Outflows of US$1.0 billion were counterbalanced by investment performance gains of US$1.1 billion. The Global strategy finished the month with US$34.2 billion in FUM after net outflows of US$0.5 billion and investment performance gains of US$0.3 billion. Meanwhile, the US strategy ended September at US$11.9 billion, following outflows of US$0.3 billion and positive investment performance of US$0.2 billion.

Year-to-Date Outflows Remain Elevated

For the nine months ended 30 September 2026, GQG recorded net outflows of US$26.2 billion. Positive investment performance contributed US$11.6 billion over the same period, while total FUM declined from US$163.9 billion at the beginning of the year to US$149.2 billion.

The Emerging strategy experienced the largest year-to-date net outflows at US$9.8 billion, followed by International at US$7.3 billion, Global at US$5.2 billion and US at US$4.0 billion. For the third quarter of 2026, net outflows amounted to US$11.1 billion, partly offset by positive investment performance of US$4.4 billion.

GQG Partners Maintains Focus on Long-Term Returns

GQG stated that its four primary investment strategies generated positive absolute and relative returns during September and the third quarter following recent portfolio repositioning. The company also reported double-digit annualised net returns across its strategies over the three years ended 30 September 2026.

Management said it continues to review portfolio positioning daily, with an emphasis on long-term capital growth and downside risk management. The company noted that fees on most of its FUM are calculated as a percentage of assets under management rather than being linked to investment performance.
