Acquisition of Three Brazilian Critical Mineral Projects
Liberty Metals Ltd (ASX: LIB) has entered a binding option agreement to acquire 100% of three highly prospective critical mineral projects in Brazil — the Paraiba Hard Rock Rutile Project, the Rio Grande Heavy Mineral Sands Project, and the Alcobaca Heavy Mineral Sands & Rare Earths Project. This acquisition positions Liberty within a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction, expanding its exposure to titanium and rare earth elements essential to aerospace, defence, and green energy industries.
The Paraiba Project spans 120 km² in the state of Paraíba and exhibits high-purity rutile mineralisation exceeding 90% TiO₂. The Rio Grande Project, covering 234 km², is prospective for ilmenite, rutile, and zircon and lies adjacent to RGM’s advanced South Atlantic Project. The 55 km² Alcobaca Project in Bahia shows strong potential for monazite-hosted rare earths. Collectively, these assets provide Liberty with a diversified portfolio and multiple development pathways across key strategic commodities.
