AML3D Limited (ASX: AL3) has successfully commissioned the first two custom large-scale ARCEMY® X metal additive manufacturing systems for Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS), a division of HII and the largest military shipbuilder in the United States. The completion of the initial order, valued at approximately US$4.5 million, triggered the final payment and marks a significant milestone in AML3D’s expansion within the U.S. defence sector. The systems are designed to enhance shipbuilding efficiency by reducing lead times and supporting advanced manufacturing capabilities.
The achievement strengthens AML3D’s relationship with NNS, which has already placed a second order worth approximately US$9.9 million for four additional ARCEMY® X systems scheduled for delivery in early 2027. Growing demand from the U.S. Navy’s Marine Industrial Base continues to validate AML3D’s technology and supports the company’s plans to double manufacturing capacity at its Ohio facility.
Looking ahead, AML3D intends to replicate its U.S. growth strategy in Europe through a dedicated manufacturing hub, positioning the company to support AUKUS defence partners while expanding into broader industrial manufacturing markets.
