Macro Metals Expands Exploration Potential with High-Grade Iron Discoveries
Macro Metals Limited (ASX: M4M) has reported encouraging progress at its Extension Iron Project, where recent exploration activities identified new zones of high-grade iron mineralisation beyond the existing resource area. Field mapping and rock sampling conducted in previously unexplored sections of the project returned iron grades of up to 62.1% Fe, reinforcing the company’s geological model and highlighting the potential for future resource growth.
The newly identified mineralised areas display characteristics similar to those within the current JORC-compliant resource of 16.1 million tonnes at 54.2% iron. Based on these results, additional mapping, sampling and future drill testing programs are planned to better define the extent and continuity of the mineralisation.
Alongside exploration progress, environmental assessment work has advanced significantly. Detailed desktop studies and field surveys covering flora, vegetation and fauna have not identified any threatened ecological communities or restricted landforms within the study areas. These outcomes support the project’s regulatory pathway, with major environmental and mining approval submissions expected during 2026 and final approvals targeted in early 2027. The combined exploration and approvals progress strengthens the project’s development outlook and supports Macro Metals’ long-term growth strategy.
