GT3 Expands MKX Product Suite to Address Concrete Industry Material Shortages
Green360 Technologies (ASX:GT3) has expanded its cement materials platform with the launch of MKX Ultra Fine (MKX UF), a commercial metakaolin product developed as a direct replacement for silica fume, a key ingredient used in high-strength concrete applications. Independent testing conducted by the University of Melbourne confirmed that MKX UF can deliver comparable concrete strength to conventional silica fume on a 1:1 replacement basis. The product has already been successfully manufactured at commercial scale and is currently undergoing trials with major concrete suppliers.
The introduction of MKX UF broadens GT3’s MKX platform, which now includes solutions designed to replace fly ash, slag, and silica fume—three supplementary cementitious materials facing increasing supply constraints due to structural changes in the coal, steel, and silicon industries. GT3 believes these shortages create a significant opportunity for locally produced alternatives such as metakaolin. The development follows the company’s recent memorandum of understanding with Holcim (Australia) for the supply of up to 4,800 tonnes per annum of MKX Calcined Clay, supporting the ongoing commercialisation of its low-carbon concrete materials business.
