ASX Announces CEO Transition Ahead of CHESS Go-Live
ASX Limited (ASX: ASX) has announced that Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Helen Lofthouse will step down in May 2026, concluding an 11-year tenure with the organisation. The transition comes as ASX prepares to deliver the first phase of the CHESS replacement project, currently targeting go-live in April 2026. Ms Lofthouse has led a broad transformation agenda since her appointment as CEO in 2022, including resetting the CHESS program, strengthening technology investment, and enhancing risk management frameworks. The Board has initiated a global search process, supported by Korn Ferry, to identify her successor, with both internal and external candidates to be considered. The Board emphasised that the leadership change will not impact execution of key strategic initiatives, with the executive team remaining accountable for delivery. ASX continues to prioritise resilient market infrastructure and long-term strategic development.
