Aussie Broadband Acquires AGL Telco and Forms Strategic Partnership
Aussie Broadband Group (ASX: ABB) has announced the acquisition of AGL Energy Limited's telecommunications business, AGL Telco, adding 350,000 broadband and mobile connections, alongside 46,000 voice services. The acquisition, set to finalize in June 2026, will position Aussie Broadband as the third-largest provider of NBN services in Australia. The deal includes a long-term partnership, where AGL will continue to promote telecom services under its brand while Aussie Broadband manages service provision. This strategic decision is expected to fuel substantial growth, with the company anticipating over 500,000 new connections in the coming five years. The acquisition is also expected to generate AU$235 million in revenue and AU$21 million in EBITDA in the first year after migration. With the addition of AGL’s customer base, Aussie Broadband strengthens its position in both the broadband and mobile sectors
