Can American West Metals Unlock Additional Value from West Desert Through New Critical Mineral Discoveries?
American West Metals Limited (ASX: AW1) has reported encouraging outcomes from a review and re-assay program at its West Desert Project in Utah, revealing additional zones of high-grade critical and base metal mineralisation that were not fully captured in earlier drilling datasets. The latest analytical work identified strong concentrations of indium, silver, gallium, zinc, copper and lead from historical drill core, providing further evidence of the project's scale and metal endowment. Several mineralised intervals have been extended beyond previously reported widths, indicating opportunities to improve both the size and confidence level of the existing resource inventory. The findings are particularly significant given West Desert already hosts one of the largest undeveloped indium resources in the United States. Management believes the new data could contribute to future resource enhancements while strengthening the project's strategic position within the US critical minerals sector. In parallel, the Company continues to advance its 2026 drilling campaign, with additional drilling, geophysical surveys and assay results expected to support ongoing exploration and resource growth initiatives across the project area.
