Can Cokal’s Operational Restart and Upcoming Coal Shipment Drive Momentum at the BBM Project?
Cokal Limited (ASX: CKA) has outlined a series of operational milestones at its Bumi Barito Mineral (BBM) Project in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, following the receipt of regulatory approval under its RKAB work plan. The approval provides the framework for continued mining activities and has enabled the Company to advance site readiness initiatives, including pit dewatering, equipment mobilisation and operational preparation ahead of a planned restart of mining activities in mid-June. Hauling activities have already resumed, while coal has been stockpiled at key logistics locations to support future barging and export operations when river conditions improve. The Company also completed its first controlled blast at Pit 3, a significant step expected to improve mining efficiency and productivity. Meanwhile, infrastructure works continue across the Batu Tuhup Jetty and haul road network, including upgrades aimed at enhancing logistics performance and long-term operational reliability. Cokal is also preparing an approximately 10,000-tonne Low Vol Hard Coking Coal export shipment targeted for late June, while progressing regulatory approvals for its planned underground mining development.
