Micro-X Reaches Major Full-Body CT Development Milestone
Micro-X Limited (ASX: MX1), an Australian technology firm, has completed the critical design review for its Full-Body CT system, a key step under its collaboration with the U.S. Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). This milestone secures a US$1.2 million (AU$1.6 million) payment and highlights the company’s technical readiness. The review assessed vital subsystems, including the CT detector array, multi-tube potted array, high-speed tube switching, and system controls, enabling the transition to manufacturing the first full-size engineering prototype. Micro-X’s proprietary cold cathode, carbon nanotube emitter technology supports compact and mobile X-ray solutions, serving healthcare, military, and security sectors. The company is also developing specialized devices, such as a portable brain CT for early stroke diagnosis and advanced airport security scanners, expanding its global footprint. This achievement reinforces Micro-X’s position as a leader in innovative imaging technologies and demonstrates its capacity to deliver sophisticated, high-performance X-ray systems on an international scale.
