D3 Energy Launches New Drilling Program to Expand Helium and Gas Resources
D3 Energy Limited (ASX: D3E) has started a new exploration drilling campaign at the Nooitgedacht area within its wholly owned ER315 permit in South Africa, reinforcing its strategy to grow helium and natural gas resources. The program begins with the NGT245 E well, the first of two planned wells targeting the Witwatersrand formation. The objective is to evaluate reservoir performance, collect additional helium and methane data, and support the expansion of the company’s certified reserve base. The campaign is also expected to strengthen future applications to convert exploration areas into production rights.
The new wells are positioned near a historic borehole that previously demonstrated favourable gas flow and helium concentrations, offering encouraging geological indicators for further exploration. Once drilling is completed, production testing will provide valuable technical information to optimise future field development, including well spacing and reservoir management. Supported by its extensive landholding in South Africa’s Free State Province, D3 Energy continues to advance its appraisal activities and position itself for long-term growth in the global helium and natural gas sector.
