Market Alert : Oil Rising Amid Escalation of Geopolitical Risk; Equity Market at Risk with High Volatility in Gold and Silver Prices

GrainCorp Navigates a Tough FY26 Commodity Cycle with Discipline

GrainCorp Limited (ASX: GNC) has released its FY26 earnings guidance, reflecting challenging global and domestic grain market conditions. The company expects underlying EBITDA of AU$200–240 million and underlying NPAT of AU$20–50 million, materially lower than FY25, primarily due to global grain oversupply and depressed commodity prices. While East Coast Australia has delivered strong winter crop volumes, slow grower selling and weak export margins have constrained profitability. Receival volumes are anticipated at 11.0–12.0 million tonnes, with exports forecast at 5.5–6.5 million tonnes, both below the prior year. In its Nutrition and Energy segment, oilseed crush margins and animal nutrition performance are expected to remain broadly stable, although agri-energy earnings are likely to soften due to uncertainty around US biofuels policy. In response, GrainCorp is accelerating cost management initiatives while maintaining service quality, supported by a strong balance sheet that underpins its long-term strategy.
