Iron Road Updates Market on Cape Hardy Land Option Status
Iron Road Ltd (ASX: IRD) has confirmed that the option to purchase the first of three land parcels at Cape Hardy, South Australia, held by Revera Energy, has lapsed after the Company declined to grant any further extension beyond 31 December 2025. The decision follows earlier extensions totalling nine months and unsuccessful negotiations on revised commercial terms after final sunset dates were agreed in August 2025. As a result, Revera Energy’s option over Area C, a 24-hectare gulf-front parcel exercisable for AU$1 million, is no longer valid.
The remaining 580 hectares earmarked for the proposed Cape Hardy Green Hydrogen Project continue to be subject to two separate purchase options with deadlines of 31 March 2026 and 30 June 2027. Importantly, the expiry of the Area C option activates a conditional buyback right for Iron Road, should Revera Energy exercise either of the remaining options, subject to FIRB approval. Iron Road noted that failure to exercise any options by June 2027 would also terminate associated infrastructure and royalty agreements linked to the advanced fuels hub proposal.
