New Frontier Locks in Option to Acquire 90% of Québec REE-Nb Project.
New Frontier Minerals Limited (ASX: NFM) has entered into a binding option and staged earn-in agreement to secure up to a 90% interest in the Pomme Rare Earth Element–Niobium Project in Québec, Canada. The asset comprises 43 mineral claims spanning roughly 2,400 hectares and is positioned within a prospective carbonatite district near the Montviel deposit. Previous drilling has confirmed a large, laterally continuous REE-Nb system extending over more than 2 square kilometres, with broad mineralised intervals and multiple higher-grade zones.
The transaction structure allows NFM to increase its ownership through defined technical milestones and staged expenditure, reducing upfront capital commitments while preserving long-term upside. Metallium will support the project as a processing and technology partner, including assessment of its Flash Joule Heating technology to enhance rare earth beneficiation. Upcoming work will focus on metallurgical testing, 3D geological modelling, and follow-up drilling to target higher-grade zones and advance resource definition.
