Northern Minerals Identifies New Vulcan Prospect and Advances Browns Range Exploration
Northern Minerals Limited (ASX: NTU) has reported strong exploration progress across its Browns Range Heavy Rare Earths Project in northern Western Australia during the first half of FY26. Multiple drilling and geochemical programs were completed, resulting in the identification of a new exploration target named the Vulcan prospect. The discovery followed regional reverse circulation drilling that intersected heavy rare earth mineralisation hosted within andesite units, reinforcing the importance of this lithology within the broader mineral system. Diamond drilling at Rockslider successfully intersected anomalous total rare earth oxide mineralisation, supporting the current structural interpretation. Additional drilling at the Ripcord and Dazzler prospects produced results consistent with the updated geological model, which will inform a planned Mineral Resource update at Dazzler in the fourth quarter of FY26. A large-scale ultrafine soil geochemistry survey also outlined multiple yttrium anomalies beneath cover, providing new targets for follow-up exploration and regional growth.
