NoviqTech Enters High-Growth Biochar Carbon Removal Market Through Coralia Deal.
NoviqTech Limited (ASX: NVQ) has taken a strategic step into carbon removal by agreeing to acquire a controlling interest in Coralia Pty Ltd, an Australian biochar-focused carbon dioxide removal company. The move broadens NoviqTech’s sustainability platform by integrating biochar production with its digital carbon and reporting infrastructure. Rapid expansion of data centres and AI workloads is driving higher energy consumption and emissions, creating sustained demand for credible carbon removal solutions. Coralia’s initial project in North Queensland plans to process invasive tree species into biochar, enabling long-term carbon storage while also addressing environmental challenges such as agricultural damage and sediment runoff affecting the Great Barrier Reef. The project is designed to generate certified carbon removal credits and develop additional revenue streams through the commercial use of biochar in construction materials. A AU$1.5 million capital raising will support acquisition costs, early offtake development, and ongoing platform growth, positioning NoviqTech for scalable, sustainability-linked revenues.
