Patagonia Lithium Advances Cilon Well 8 with Encouraging Drilling Results
Patagonia Lithium Limited (ASX: PL3) has reported encouraging progress from its Cilon Well 8 drilling program at the Formentera/Cilon lithium project in Argentina. The well has reached a depth of 200 metres, with six successful packer tests completed, demonstrating strong aquifer performance and flow rates of up to 450 litres per hour. Specific gravity readings have steadily increased from 1.04 to 1.06, while total dissolved solids also improved, indicating favourable brine characteristics. The company highlighted that environmental assessments confirmed drilling activities have not adversely affected the surrounding environment or the basin's hydrological balance.
Management believes the most prospective lithium-bearing interval remains between 250 and 400 metres, with drilling set to continue toward the planned 600-metre target. Analysis of the recovered brine samples is anticipated over the next three to four weeks, with another packer test planned once drilling reaches the 210-metre level. Following completion of drilling, Patagonia Lithium plans to undertake a 72-hour pumping test and further geological assessments to support a future Mineral Resource Estimate update, reinforcing its exploration strategy across the Cilon project.
