Revised Mobilisation Plan for Kangaroo Island Ferries

Kelsian Group Limited (ASX: KLS) has announced an updated mobilisation plan for its new Kangaroo Island ferry service, now scheduled to commence on 1 June 2026. The adjustment follows delays in vessel delivery and an agreement with the South Australian Government to avoid disruptions during peak travel periods such as summer holidays, the Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival, and Easter.

The two new ferries, Wanggami and Ruwi, will more than double annual vehicle meterage capacity and lift passenger capacity by around 20%, while also improving frequency, turnaround times, safety, and facilities. To prepare, Kelsian is undertaking crew recruitment, training, and operational testing. As part of its community support measures, residents will receive discounted vehicle fares from November 2025 until the new vessels are introduced, and livestock freight rates will remain unchanged until year-end 2026. Despite the revised timeline, Kelsian confirmed there is no change to its FY26 underlying EBITDA guidance.
